Accident Insurance
All permanent employees are covered for travel accident insurance whilst on company business, in the event of accidental death, to a sum equivalent to twice their basic annual salary.

Childcare Vouchers
Employees can take advantage of the childcare voucher scheme. As these vouchers are exempt from National Insurance Contributions, it can help take away some of the financial anxiety you may have regarding childcare. This scheme can help reduce the cost of childcare by up to 11 per cent.

Clara Abbott Foundation
The Clara Abbott Foundation was established to provide financial and educational assistance to Abbott families around the world and is available to employees and retirees of Abbott or subsidiaries, as well as their spouses and dependent children.

Employee Assistance Programme
We offer a free service for employees, their partners and immediate family members who need information or support. The service is confidential and is available 24 hours a day for any issues including childcare, personal and family, legal and financial assistance.

Flexible Working

Pension Scheme
The Abbott Pension Fund is a final salary contributory scheme, which is contracted out of the State Earnings Related Scheme (SERPS). Employees contribute 5% of their annual base salary and the employer contributes 15% of annual base salary. The Abbott Pension Fund offers:

  • Pension based on final pensionable earnings for each year of pensionable service
  • Option to exchange part of the pension for a cash lump sum on retirement
  • Death-in-service benefits of three times relevant earnings at the date of death
  • Spouse’s and children’s pension
  • Group income protection scheme
  • Life assurance – three times annual salary

Private Health Cover
All permanent employees are eligible for free private health cover. Employees may cover family members at extra cost.

We are able to provided relocation assistance to eligible employees, however the level of assistance offered will depend on the individual’s specific circumstances.
